Beginner ski tourers mostly prefer ski slopes for ascent and descent, as they can thus avoid alpine dangers such as avalanches, orientation problems and changing snow conditions. The joy of being surrounded by nature and fitness goals are their main considerations. Experienced ski tourers often use ski slopes for training, especially in the evening or at the start of winter when there is not much snow on the ground outside of the slopes yet. The Muttereralm ski slopes are only available for ski tourer at certain times!
