Waidburg Castle

The “Waidburg” was originally built by Wendelin Yphofen, the former mayor of Innsbruck, but soon became the property of Emperor Maximilian. As a keen hunter, he had the castle converted into a hunting lodge and enjoyed spending time here, especially when fishing in the nearby lake. The Gothic chapel on the second floor of the building is a particularly impressive highlight. The Waidburg is now home to the town hall, the library and a tourist information point.
