Tourist Information Innsbruck architecture

The tourist information centre for Innsbruck Tourismus has a visitor volume of over 500,000 people per year and this makes it the most visited tourist information centre in Tyrol. It also has an interesting history: in the 16th century, the three-aisled hall with its magnificent Renaissance vaults served as the court stables for horses from the Imperial Palace. In later years, it was a military directorate, officers' barracks and military chancery.

During renovations in 2018, a charming combination of contemporary architecture and state-of-the-art information technology was created with great emphasis on revitalising the original appearance and proportions of the hall through use of the latest digital technology.
