Free transport on the city buses to the ski resorts

The city bus line J is free for skiers and snowboarders during the ski season. The bus route leads right through Innsbruck and connects the ski resorts of Patscherkofel and Nordkette. For free travel, however, passengers must look like skiers or snowboarders: anyone travelling with skis or a snowboard and wearing the necessary winter sports clothing, rides for free. By the way, this is not only true on the J bus, it applies to all of the IVB city buses.
If you have stored your winter sports equipment at the ski resort, you need a deposit slip for the bus ride. On the return journey, you can simply show your lift ticket for the current day.

Please note: this is only valid during the ski season for as long as the ski resorts are open to winter sports enthusiasts.
