Zeughaus museum
Where Emperor Maximilian I once stored weapons and ammunition, today the exhibition "Treasure Tyrol" invites visitors to explore Tyrolean history and stories between the past and the present. What do archaeological finds reveal about the first settlements in Tyrol? What economic and political conditions have prevailed over the centuries? How has the mountainous land shaped its inhabitants and their daily lives? What role did and does sports and tourism play for the people in Tyrol, and how have they developed? The museum in the armory opens up thematic islands that provide insights into Tyrol's past, while interactive stations create bridges to the present. Personal narratives highlight the perspectives of the Tyroleans in a vivid way. Together with selected collection objects, they make long-ago times tangible. Some everyday objects from grandma's time may evoke nostalgia, but the museum in the armory also invites visitors to critically question history. Areas that are regularly featured with new themes provide opportunities to rediscover the history of Tyrol time and again.
