Stift Stams (Abbey of Stams)
The baroque Cistercian monastery in Stams is prominently visible in the middle Inn Valley, south of the Inn River. The collegiate church with its princely crypt, magnificent pulpit, impressive vaults and wall paintings, as well as the probably most famous sacred artwork of the collegiate church, the Tree of Life altar, is a centerpiece of Tyrolean culture. In the museum's rooms, a broad cross-section of the most significant objects from various collection areas is presented to the public as a permanent exhibition. The Stiftsgarten and the restaurant Schwarzfischer, located below the monastery, are the perfect places to enjoy the many impressions over a cup of coffee. Tours are offered from October to May:
