The "Tiroler Volksschauspiele" folk theatre festival

Founded in 1981, the "Tiroler Volksschauspiele" in Telfs is one of the most important and oldest theatre festivals in Tyrol. In addition to reinterpretations of folk classics, the festival provides a unique stage for numerous contemporary pieces by young authors. The performances are often centred on "hot" topics that make an important contribution to cultural debate and critical discussion. The repertoire ranges from productions of well-known classics to remarkable world premieres. The well-known Tyrolean author Felix Mitterer, who last impressed with his play "Verkaufte Heimat" in 2019, as well as numerous other contemporary authors, wow audiences at the "Tiroler Volksschauspiele" theatre festival.
